E-shop development 2026: cost and Skroutz XML and BestPrice feeds

E-shop development in Greece costs from 1,490 euro in 2026 and covers a product catalogue, cart, secure payments, shipping rules, an order management panel and a feed for Skroutz and BestPrice. Kyriakos Kaitezidis, a freelance web developer in Greece, builds it alone and remotely for businesses across the country.

E-shop cost in 2026: how much does it cost?

An e-shop starts at 1,490 euro. That covers a product catalogue, cart and checkout, secure payments, shipping rules and an order panel you run yourself. The number rises when the scope does: an ERP link, a migration from an old platform, more languages or unusual pricing rules.

The quote is written and fixed. It lists what is in, when it ships and what is not covered, so you can compare it with any other. There is no hourly billing.

For comparison, a presentation site without a store starts at 590 euro. If the project goes beyond an e-shop and needs bespoke functionality, it falls under the custom web app tier, from 2,500 euro. Domain and hosting are paid separately to the provider, and a platform subscription (if you choose Shopify) is paid to the platform.

WooCommerce, Shopify or a custom e-shop: which should I choose?

All three work, and the right one depends on how you sell. WooCommerce (a WordPress plugin) and Shopify (a hosted platform on a monthly plan) start fast and come with ready-made extensions. Their running cost grows with every extension and subscription, and each extension adds code the visitor has to load.

A custom e-shop is built around your business: the couriers you use, the ERP you already run, the way you price. It costs more at the start and carries no platform subscription. I build either a custom store or headless Shopify, depending on how many products you have and how often they change.

If you sell a few dozen products and need nothing unusual, a ready-made system may be enough. I will tell you if that is the case.

How long does an e-shop take to build?

An e-shop ships in three to five weeks from the moment I have your products, photos and copy. If it needs a photo shoot, an ERP link or a migration from an old platform, the timeline is written into the quote before we start. In practice content is what holds projects up, almost never code.

Skroutz XML and BestPrice feeds: how does the connection work?

For Skroutz and BestPrice I generate the XML feed those comparison platforms expect, with title, price, availability, category and photo for each product, and it updates automatically when prices or stock change. You handle each platform's sign-up and terms yourself.

The same goes for your ERP or invoicing software (Softone, Epsilon, Megasoft and others): prices, stock and documents sync with the system you already use, so you never keep two catalogues. What exactly syncs is written into the quote.

Which payments and couriers are supported?

For payments I work with what Greek customers trust: cards through a Greek bank or Viva, IRIS, and cash on delivery. For shipping, ACS, Geniki Taxydromiki or BOX NOW, with automatic calculation by weight and postcode, so you neither lose money on each parcel nor scare buyers off with "shipping on request".

Fixed price, agreed in writing before the work starts. No hourly billing and no invoice that grows because something changed halfway.

FAQ

How much does an e-shop cost in 2026?

It starts at 1,490 euro with a product catalogue, cart, payments, shipping rules and an order panel. An ERP link, a migration from an old platform and extra languages are priced separately in the written quote.

Can the e-shop send products to Skroutz with XML?

Yes. An XML feed for Skroutz and BestPrice is generated and updates when price or stock changes. You handle sign-up and terms on each platform yourself.

WooCommerce, Shopify or custom: which is better value?

For a few dozen products with no unusual needs, a ready-made system may be enough. When you need specific couriers, an ERP or your own pricing rules, custom avoids subscriptions and plugins. I will tell you plainly which fits.

Will my e-shop show up on Google?

Every e-shop ships with technical SEO, product structured data, a sitemap and pages that load fast. Those are the conditions for Google to show you at all. Where you land after that depends on the competition in your sector and the content you keep adding, and nobody can guarantee it.

Who manages the orders?

You do, from a panel that works on a phone as well. You never need to call me to change a price, add a product or see what sold.

Where is the data stored?

On infrastructure inside Europe. What your shop needs for hosting and a database is written into the quote before the work starts.

Do you work with businesses outside Xanthi?

Yes, across Greece and remotely. I am based in Xanthi. For every other city we work online, with video calls, a shared folder for material and a staging link that shows the progress.
